HELMA Eigenheimbau AG: Purchase of attractive land plots secures further significant expansion of property development business
Lehrte, November 2, 2010 - HELMA Eigenheimbau AG, the specialist for individual solid construction houses and sustainable energy concepts, has purchased two attractive land plots within the Berlin metropolitan conurbation through its subsidiary HELMA Wohnungsbau GmbH. As a consequence, the basis for further significant growth in the high-margin property development business has been created earlier than planned. HELMA Wohnungsbau GmbH is thereby developing into one of the highest-revenue and most successful property developers for detached homes within the greater Berlin metropolitan region.

The first land plot, which is located in the Stahnsdorfer Grashüpferviertel area on Berlin's southern city perimeter, offers a total area of 16,076 square meters of fully developed construction land, providing space for around 40 detached and semi-detached homes. The second land plot, which was also purchased on a fully developed basis, is located directly along the water's edge of the Teltow Canal in the Berlin city district of Rudow, and offers a total area of 32,971 square meters. Plans for this plot entail the construction of around 66 detached and semi-detached homes.  
The investment volume, including ancillary costs such as land purchase tax and notary costs, amounts to a total of around EUR 8.34 million for both land plots. The Management Board of HELMA Eigenheimbau AG is assuming that most of the total of around 106 land units including HELMA homes will already be sold in the 2011 and 2012 financial years. As a consequence, these transactions give rise to additional revenue potential of around EUR 28 million (land and houses) for the HELMA Wohnungsbau GmbH subsidiary, which will prospectively be distributed among the 2011-2013 financial years.
