HELMA Eigenheimbau AG acquires finance broker Hausbau Finanz GmbH
Lehrte, September 2, 2010 - HELMA Eigenheimbau AG, the specialist for individual solid construction homes and sustainable energy concepts, is entering the finance broking agency business. To this end, HELMA has acquired Hausbau Finanz GmbH, Minden, by way of an asset deal. Along with its successfully tested business model and extensive sector expertise, which will continue to be managed and expanded within a one hundred percent subsidiary under the same name based in Lehrte, a portfolio of around 6,000 customers in the loan financing area and an attractive base of home insurance clients have also been acquired.

Hausbau Finanz GmbH will focus on its new client business, which will particularly comprise the broking of loans for future HELMA customers. This not only allows HELMA Group's portfolio of services to be rounded out optimally, but also implements a further central growth pillar for house sales.

'The timing for entering finance broking could hardly be better given historically low construction loan interest rates,' was how Karl-Heinz Maerzke, Chairman of the Management Board of HELMA Eigenheimbau AG, commented on the takeover that the company has realised. 'Favourable construction loan terms are a powerful reason why families, particularly those who are still renting their homes, and investors, should be very interested in purchasing real estate especially at the moment. With a finance broker within our Group that has excellent contacts to numerous banks and savings institutions, it is now possible for us to comprehensively service these and other interested parties in the home financing area too, and to further expand the base of potential purchasers of individual HELMA homes,' Mr. Maerzke went on to remark.
With the prolongation of loans that are due for renewal from among its extensive client base, and its supplementary insurance business, Hausbau Finanz GmbH also has further attractive business pillars.
The purchase price together with all costs connected with the establishment of its own Hausbau Finanz GmbH amount to a total of around TEUR 250.
The Management Board of HELMA Eigenheimbau AG is firmly assuming that it will also be possible to fully integrate Hausbau Finanz GmbH into the HELMA Group in operating terms by the end of the current financial year. As a consequence, it is anticipated that Hausbau Finanz GmbH will arrange a loan volume of EUR 35-50 million for the 2011 financial year, and of significantly more than EUR 60 million in the medium term. Hausbau Finanz GmbH would be profitable from the start given the above-mentioned volumes, contributing annual net income in the low six-digit euro range to Group net income in the medium term. Of much greater importance, however, is the tangible contribution that the new subsidiary will simultaneously make to continued growth in new orders at HELMA Eigenheimbau AG and HELMA Wohnungsbau GmbH.
