Isernhagen, November 16, 2007 – HELMA Eigenheimbau AG is opening a HELMA solar energy house at its showhouse park in Lehrte at 3 p.m. this afternoon. The HELMA solar energy house is the most innovative and effective way of saving energy, and also offers the remarkable opportunity of heating on a completely CO2-neutral basis. Using solar energy throughout the whole year means the HELMA solar energy house can be heated without any requirements for oil, gas, or electricity. The solar energy that has been saved is sufficient to heat the house comfortably, even in cold periods and when there is little sun.

The solar energy house has allowed HELMA Eigenheimbau AG to expand its product range to include a very promising type of house that makes sparing use of resources. Besides the solar energy house at the showhouse park in Lehrte, interested parties and aspiring house owners can also see the qualities of the house for themselves at the showhouse in the south of Germany (Offenburg) that was completed at the same time. Consequently, HELMA enjoys two outstanding locations to present its innovative solar energy house technology. This will enable the company to make decisive progress with sales of this type of house.

Demand for energy-saving housing types has risen markedly in view of the constant hikes in energy costs. Apart from ever-higher levels of environmental awareness, reduced payback periods mean that energy-saving houses are also increasingly regarded as intelligent investments.
'We have been intensively involved with energy-efficient building technology for many years, which has allowed us to build up a high level of expertise in this area from an early juncture,' commented Karl-Heinz Maerzke, Chairman of the Management Board of HELMA Eigenheimbau AG. 'Our KfW-40/60 houses, the passive energy house, and now the solar house have given us an optimal position in this important market of the future, and this will make a significant contribution to the success of our company in coming years,' Maerzke added.

HELMA Eigenheimbau AG is a customer-oriented full-service construction service provider. The company’s focus lies on the development, planning, sale and construction management of turn-key or partly finished single-occupancy and semidetached houses in massive construction or element massive construction. The company’s tailored planning and individualisation at no extra cost as well as its in-depth expertise in the field of energy-efficient construction are particularly perceived by the market as a unique selling point of HELMA Eigenheimbau AG. As a property developer, the HELMA Wohnungsbau GmbH & Co. KG subsidiary complements the service range of the HELMA Group. HELMA Eigenheimbau AG (ISIN: DE0000A0EQ578) has been listed in the Entry Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since 19 September 2006.
