HELMA Eigenheimbau AG publishes preliminary figures for FY 2019: Record earnings of EUR 4.04 per share (+12 %) achieved; highest order book position and attractive project pipeline form an excellent basis for further growth
Lehrte, March 4, 2020 - HELMA Eigenheimbau AG has today published its detailed preliminary consolidated figures in accordance with IFRS for the 2019 financial year, which include new records for both orders and earnings. The HELMA Group thereby successfully continued its positive business performance in the past financial year.
Dynamic new order intake trend:
The HELMA Group recorded total growth in new order intake of 6.4 % in the 2019 financial year, thereby increasing its sales result from EUR 278.6 million in the previous year to EUR 296.5 million. The highest growth was achieved by HELMA Eigenheimbau AG, which reached a new record level of EUR 121.7 million to reflect an increase of 15.1 %. The subsidiary HELMA Wohnungsbau GmbH, which is active in the property development business, also achieved a further high level of new order intake with a volume of EUR 131.3 million, only slightly below the previous year's very pleasing level. As expected, HELMA Ferienimmobilien GmbH benefited from sales launches in the second half of the year, with new order intake of EUR 43.4 million being achieved in the year under review, representing growth of 10.5 %.
The HELMA Group's order book position amounted to EUR 202.7 million as of December 31, 2019, around 18.3 % above the previous year's level. The aforementioned figure no longer includes EUR 140.9 million of revenues from current building projects already recognised proportionally pursuant to IFRS (December 31, 2018: EUR 99.6 million).
New record earnings:
Based on revenue of EUR 263.2 million (previous year: EUR 253.3 million), the HELMA Group achieved record earnings before taxes (EBT) of EUR 23.6 million (previous year: EUR 21.2 million) in the 2019 financial year. In addition, consolidated net income after minority interests amounted to EUR 16.1 million and thus increased by around EUR 1.7 million compared to the previous year. This is equivalent to overall earnings per share of EUR 4.04 (previous year: EUR 3.62), corresponding to growth of around 11.6 % compared with the previous year.
Based on an attractive project pipeline, the two subsidiaries active in the property development business, HELMA Wohnungsbau GmbH and HELMA Ferienimmobilien GmbH, have a combined revenue potential from secured land plots of around EUR 1.5 billion as of December 31, 2019. Provided that the market environment remains robust, this is expected to be largely realised in the next 5 to 7 years. Future land purchases will further expand this potential. In addition, annual revenue of at least EUR 100 million is expected in the building services business of HELMA Eigenheimbau AG, for which the company does not require its own land. In conjunction with the gratifyingly high order book position as of the balance sheet date, EBT is consequently expected to increase again by more than 10 % to a record EBT of at least EUR 26.0 million in the 2020 financial year, and to continue its profitable growth in subsequent years.
